We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that food orders are prepared and delivered efficiently, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of food service operations, and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and servers.

Duties

Coordinate the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring timely delivery to guests.
Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes before they leave the kitchen.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to manage order priorities and special requests.
Assist with food preparation and plating as needed, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
Support the serving staff by providing assistance during busy periods, including bussing tables and managing guest relations.
Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order entry and tracking.
Engage in upselling techniques to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, following sanitation protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred, with fine dining experience being a plus.
Strong culinary knowledge and familiarity with food handling practices.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Proficient in using POS systems; experience with OpenTable is advantageous.
Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
